First introduced in 1948, Bvlgari’s Tubogas design revolutionized fine jewelry with its innovative blend of form and function. Originally inspired by the gas pipes of the 1920s, this design eschewed the floral and symmetrical motifs of the past in favor of a daring, spiral aesthetic crafted in luminous yellow gold. Since its debut, the Tubogas concept has become a hallmark of Bvlgari, reappearing in various collections and embodying the maison’s spirit of modernity and ingenious engineering.
The latest Tubogas collection, featuring 16 striking pieces, combines the design’s classic elegance with contemporary flair. Ranging from pure 18-karat gold bracelets to gem-encrusted creations, each piece reflects Bvlgari’s signature styles, including Monete, Serpenti, and Parentesi. Notable highlights include a high-jewelry necklace adorned with vibrant gemstones and a timepiece that blends Bvlgari’s watchmaking heritage with the Tubogas’s unique design.
This collection is showcased in a new campaign by photographer Julien Vallon, featuring brand ambassador Hikari Mori against a backdrop that mirrors Rome’s sunset hues. As part of the Bvlgari Studio project, the collection will be celebrated with artistic collaborations in New York, including a digital campaign by Antoni Tudisco and an installation by light artist Christopher Bauder. The venue, The Refinery at Domino, reflects both the historic and contemporary spirit of the Tubogas, bridging past and present in a fitting tribute to this iconic design.
